PTV Certified Trainer programme

Are you interested in becoming a PTV Certified Professional Trainer for PTV Vision? The PTV Certified Trainer programme provides training and evaluation of qualified industry professionals to deliver PTV certified courses, specifically in PTV Vision, the leading software suite for transportation planning and traffic engineering.

The four-day course to train-the-trainer is divided into 16 x 90 minutes sessions you will learn how to apply the PTV Vision software with a focus on a teaching setting. A one-day exam will also train you for all relevant applications.

The train-the-trainer classes will also offer you the opportunity to meet up with other PTV Vision users from around the world and to share ideas and experiences. You get a chance of interacting with many nationalities in a very friendly atmosphere.

Course programme:

The course places particular emphasis on specific topics concerning the VISUM and VISSIM software modules. It also explores basic learning theory and teaching methods. Practice-based examples and exercises will help familiarise yourself with the scope of the trainer's responsibilities. The idea behind the PTV Vision software solutions builds the basis for understanding the program procedures. The course therefore places a major emphasis on this topic. There will be an oral exam on selected topics at the end of the course. Exams are built from a random set of questions in the selected topics.

What are the requirements?:

You are a professional PTV Vision user with a profound knowledge of your preferred module area and have already acquired teaching experience, for example, with other user groups. The PTV Certified Training is held in English. You will therefore need a good command of the English language.

Your personal teaching license counts:

Each certified trainer receives a stamp with his or her unique license number. As a certified trainer, you will act in the best interest of PTV. Your license remains valid by annually refreshing your PTV Vision skills. It is thus possible to deliver high-quality instruction to you and your future course attendees. Stay up-to-date by attending a PTV Users Group Meeting, training classes about new up-dates and similar events. If a certified trainer no longer fulfils the teaching requirements, he or she must return the license.

Training fees:

The fee for a four-day course and the one-day exam is provided by PTV in Germany. It includes all training sessions, the exam, all documents, refreshments during the course and five lunch meals.

Also note that Certified Trainers shall have to pay EUR150 every time they request licenses for a training course off up to ten participants? For each request, the new licenses will be issued for four weeks only.

The certified trainer sessions are currently only offered from the PTV team in Karlsruhe, Germany. These sessions are held once per annum. Details of the next training session can be found here:
